Nursing Programs

Associate of Nursing Program (ASN)
Usually 15-24 Months
Program Objective:
The objective of the registered nursing program is to prepare students for the eligibility to apply for the Registered Nurse National Council Licensing Examination and attain knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet minimal competency for entry-level practice.
Program Description
The purpose of the registered nursing program is to provide theoretical instruction and clinical application of the art and science of nursing. This will be expressed through therapeutic and caring relationships that promote optimal physical, psychological and spiritual health and well-being. The core values of caring, diversity, ethics, excellence, holism, integrity, leadership and management and patient-centeredness are reflected in the associate-degree nursing curriculum.

Practical Nursing Program
Program Duration: 14 Months
Program Objective:
The Practical Nursing Program is to prepare the student for the NCLEx exam by providing them the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to be a compassionate, ethical and competent caregiver.
Program Description
The purpose of the Practical Nursing Program is to provide:
- Theoretical instruction and clinical application of vocational role and function.
- Personal, family and community health concepts. Nutrition education.
- Human growth and development over the lifespan.
- Body structure and function.
- Interpersonal relationship skills.
- Mental health concepts.
- Pharmacology and administration of medications.
- Legal aspects of practice.
- Current issues in nursing.

The student who has met all educational and institutional requirements from Sovereign School of Nursing is eligible to have their name submitted to the Florida Board of Nursing to be considered as a candidate for the National Council Licensure Examination for the program completed.
